39ers Aging with ATTitude December 2025

The Holidays Are the Times of your Life

Happy UN-Birthday DECEMBER 39ers! ♪ And many more… ♪ Wait ‘til you read the fun stuff, jampacked into the December 2025 edition of 39 And Holding Club!

From Sagittarius and Capricorn’s mini-horoscopes to our vintage Song of Note particularly apropos to this month, to our Aging Tip of the Month, and of course, the month’s lineup of distinctive days to celebrate, there’s something for everyone. Let’s give this final month of the year a proper send-off!

֎ We Celebrate 39ers ~ And More!
39 and Holding Club is dedicated to all those intrepid souls who have turned 40 years old … and climbing. By this time, we hopefully know a few things about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness. Not necessarily in that order. So, c’mon along as we embrace Aging with ATTitude and enjoy life because of it … or in spite of it … your choice!

December’s 39er Strs of the Sky
We always begin with a mini-horoscope for us all. No matter our age, a little perceived help never hurts. It’s followed by a few words of encouragement as we UNwrap the month’s UN-Birthday Zodiac signs. Here we go …

For all of us: Argh! Stop the cacophony! The Holidays often bring more noise, inside as well as outside our heads. Following the 4th’s Full Moon, we should be able to reflect on our communications both personally and professionally, to find a quieter path through the month. As always, we’ll begin our annual introspection and corrections for the New Year, around the New Moon (19th). Don’t worry, it’s all good! Looking for a 2026 hint? Here ya go …
There’s a promise of sparkle and marvel in the air, come January. Breakthroughs will find a portal of release that just might be nothing short of amazing in 2026. Keep your eyes and ears open and look for the advantages around every corner …

Hey, Sagittarius 39ers (11/22 – 12/21), cool your jets and listen to the Universe suggesting you let up a bit and loosen the reigns on your tension. Do it now, as it won’t be quite so easy after mid-month. We all tend to tense up while trying to juggle work, play and family. Give yourself a break sooner, rather than later, for a little introspection and you’ll breathe easier.

On the other hand, Capricorn 39ers (12/22 – Jan 19, 2026), you thrive on the hustle and bustle of the Holidays, using your innate senses to spearhead interesting and enlightening conversations, whether commonplace or spiritual. You thrive in this atmosphere and will find as the month progresses, another purposeful approach to your projects as we gear up for the New Year. Keep your mood light and your mind lively!

Gift hints: Sagittarius gemstone – turquoise; Capricorn gemstone – garnet.

December Vintage Song of Note

December is just naturally, a time for reflection and memories. Our Song of Note leads us into Christmas and a nostalgic year-end, as we recall when it grabbed the bottom rung of music charts on its way up the hit ladder.
       December 1975
Paul Anka proudly displayed video moments of his personal memories in this video while he crooned, “Times of Your Life,” reminding us to treasure our mindful snapshots of years gone by. Remember, The laughter and the tears | The shadows of misty yesteryears
“Times of Your Life” was Anka’s final Billboard Top Ten hit (his twelfth), climbing to KISN/Portland, Oregon’s Top Ten by month’s end. It was originally created for a Kodak jingle, but Anka decided it deserved better and recorded it for a singles release. Sadly, it has returned to its roots, yet another stolen iconic song to enhance a soulless commercial.
We should remember “Times of Your Life” as a love song to life
The mem'ries are time that you borrow | To spend when you get to tomorrow MORE nostalgia music history and tuneful vintage trivia to manifest your memories and keep the Rock Rockin’ from 50 Years Ago this Month!

֎ More DECEMBER Fun for Everyone

Thursday ~ December 4th: Yep, there was a BIG beautiful Supermoon on this night—though this article wasn’t posted ‘til December 8th, of course, we’ll feel the effects of the aptly named, Full Cold Moon magic, throughout the month. Meditation is especially enhanced and rewarding.

Saturday ~ December 13th: Let’s all celebrate the embodiment of music, dance and song all wrapped up in Dick Van Dyke Day! Well, it isn’t an official celebratory day yet, but it should be, as Mr. Van Dyke turns 100 Years Old today! To honor the man, myth and legend, a special documentary releases in theatres today and tomorrow. If you’ve never heard of him … you’ve missed out on a whole lot of fun. Mr. Van Dyke personifies the highly desirable “triple threat” actor, who also sings and dances with flair, grace and elegance. But I happen to know, he began in a broadcast role as a Radio DJ at the tender age of sixteen.
June 15, 2016, gave me the distinct pleasure of meeting Mr. Van Dyke at the San Diego book signing for his motto and book title,
Keep Moving and Other Tips and Truths About Aging. As a keynote speaker for the Aging Summit, he was a delight in sharing his life stories and was the indisputable highlight of the day.

Sunday ~ December 14th: Are you feeling like a funky monkey today? That’s ok! Today’s unsponsored Monkey Day gives you the freedom to act like a monkey while learning its meaning, how it began, and all about monkeys, with the above link! Go … explore … and swing from your chandelier!

Friday ~ December 19th: No introduction needed for National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day! Everyone has one … or two … or ten. What are you waiting for?! It’s the Christmas holidays … enjoy in fun and a little lunacy.

Saturday ~ December 20th: Ah, yes … the December New Moon magic is especially important, as we turn our thoughts inward for introspection and insight to carry us into the New Year. Your New Moon Musings should always offer new beginnings, but this month, add a few minutes to Reflect Merrily, Rejoice Presently, and Rejuvenate for the Future!

Sunday ~ December 21st: Now this is a day to celebrate! It may be the First Day of Winter and the shortest day of the year, but that also means every day from now until the Summer Solstice (June 21, 2026) is longer and warmer. For now, grab your Ugly Christmas Sweater and a cuppa egg nog … mmmmmm.

Thursday & Friday ~ December 24th & 25th: Enjoy your Holidays, 39ers, as we celebrate through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Something to think about … every morning I open my eyes, gives me the same delight as opening my Christmas gifts. You know it’s only for you and you don’t know until you unwrap it, what the day will hold. Let’s go see what’s in today’s present ~ L.Rochelle … May your Christmas be filled with merriment, peace and love.

Wednesday ~ December 31st: Whatever you choose to do tonight, New Years Eve day often holds thoughts of tomorrow, immediate and future … embrace them with enthusiasm!

֎ Aging Tip of the Month: Dick Van Dyke is the epitome of 39 and Holding philosophy, “… how I have managed to grow old, even very old, without growing up, and the answer is this: I haven’t grown up. I play. I dance with my Inner Child. Every day.” (From his book, Keep Moving …)

֎ Aging with ATT-i-tude Platitude
We know not what tomorrow holds—or even the next hour—so as my generation once coined, “Let’s Live for Today”* and trust that tomorrow will take care of itself.**   ~ L. Rochelle

**That of course, doesn't mean to live today recklessly; but we often forget to enjoy today for all it holds. Regardless of how much you plan, tomorrow is still an unknown. (*“Let’s Live for Today” by The Grass Roots, 1967.)

NUTS & BOLTS: And dear readers, I just want you to know that I try my best to create an informative, aesthetically creative article for you each month. However, Blogger is not a professional hosting site—but they’re free through Google. So we’re stuck with their crummy platform that doesn’t work well to manipulate images with writing, especially if you aren’t a techie who knows HTML. Trust me, I’ve tried for years to write articles without gaps between paragraphs and even between sentences. Sigh. Maybe I’ll win the lottery and be able to afford a professional hosting site someday.

39ers Aging with ATTitude Platitude August 2022

Nothin’ Better 39ers than a Hot Summer Moon & a Motorcycle!

Well, August’s hot 39er fun is egregiously late (today is 08/08/22), but thank you for waiting, 39ers! The ol’ saying goes, “Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries.” Unfortunately, I’m drowning in the pits, but things like this site are what keeps me floating to the top. Let’s go splashing around in a cool Fountain of Youth!

As you know, we advocate here for “Aging with ATT-i-tude.” Just wish I’d known when I was younger, how much fun I was having then! Heehee.

Like the motorcycle title reference—it sparks memories in our Monthly Song of Note
—I vividly recall speeding down a country road one hot summer night on the back of a Harley, with a hot guy, oh so many years ago. But that’s what summer is for—the young, the young-at-heart, and the memories. So what’s going on for AUGUST 2022?

֎ Celebrating AUGUST 39ers ~ And More!

We love to observe International Pirate Month in Arrr-gust. Think of it as prepping for Halloween. The host link urges, “Every August, a whole month set aside to celebrate all things pirate! Hold at least one pirate themed event with the intent of raising money for charity.” Great idea! (A little Cap’n Morgan might add some spice. Of course, unlike the ol’ buccaneers, drink responsibly!) Grab your fake sword, don a sporty eyepatch, and tip your glass to pirates, matey ...

August is also
Happiness Happens Month. Some people are just happy. In the midst of chaos, or shortly after a bad day, they simply have the happy gene that helps them pick up and move on. If you’re not one of them, and would like a little help to weather the waves of life, this site is for you. Their goal? “... helping people feel happier one person at a time.” The host is a certified professional personal coach and founder of the Society of Happy People. Smile.

August 9th: You know I often shamelessly self-promote ... I found the perfect day for it—today is Book Lovers Day! Wiki can tell you all about it, which isn’t much. Sooooo, let me urge you, if you haven’t already, check out my books on Amazon! Our Big Bro site, Blast from Your Past, delves into the annals of radio history and interviewing more than forty pioneering Rock Radio DJs, to bring you true behind-the-mic tales of 1950s and 1960s! Yes, they cater to Boomers, but anyone curious or fanatic about Oldies Rock & Roll should give ‘em a read—today! (And dare I say it aloud? Christmas is coming up!)

August 11th: Ready for Full Moon Magic? Grab your fishing pole and look up! Figuratively orliterally, August’s supermoon is the final giant moon of the year, and sturgeon everywhere will be celebrating Full Moon Magic. Traditionally known as the Sturgeon Full Moon, its splendor does, indeed, attract the prehistoric-looking fish, traced back to 136,000,000 years ago. If you’re not into fishing, and depending on your heritage and geographic location, you may also know August’s supermoon as the Flying Up Moon, Harvest Moon, or Mountain Shadow Moon. Regardless of what it’s called, enjoy this month’s full moon majesty and dance under the bright lunar light!

August 12th: Speaking of Oldies (above) unbelievably, Vinyl Record Day has no official sponsor, either! It’s reminiscent of a couple Record Store Days on the calendar with retail links (of course), but this is the only day just for vinyl records. Get yourself a turntable or drag your vintage one out of storage, find your old records or buy some new/vintage vinyl! Remember, they are the foundation of modern music media, especially Rock & Roll!

August 14th:  Ever wonder about the beautiful script of greeting cards, wedding invitations, and prestigious party invites? World Calligraphy Day is the perfect time to learn about lettering and the art behind it! The venerable folks of Manuscript pens don’t actually impart why this day is important to them, but they do offer a vibrant history of the ancient art, “It is estimated that the Romans were the first to really bring calligraphy to the masses ...” Go ahead ... give it a try!

August 16th: Oh, yum, it’s National Rum Day! OK, I’m including this one only because it coincides with International Pirate Month – ya know, pirates and rum just go together (yep, I’m thinkin’ “Captain Morgan”)!  Again, we’re not told why today is special for those who created it during dark days of the pandemic, but I can imagine their inspiration. Established in 2020, those were tough days, and the smooth flow of a modicum of rum can lighten the mood (when you drink responsibly, of course). From rum and cola to a fruity Bahama Mama, it may add a little flair to your Pirate party.

August 20th: Do be aware, it’s National Honey Bee Day. Why? Do you know, “Bees pollinate 80% of the world’s plants including 90 different food crops.” So, isn’t it a no-brainer to “... honor the insect responsible for more than 1/3 of the food we eat”?

Think you need to be in the countryside to celebrate this incredible, busy little creature? Au contraire! The link is sponsored by HoneyLove Urban Beekeepers! Yes, you can help honey bees even from your city patio. (If that isn’t an option, donating to the mighty efforts of HoneyLove is 100% tax deductible.)

You’re also urged to contribute to the day with your own fun awareness event! Help them tell the world about the benefit of honey bees with, “Any program that is free and open to the public which focuses on honey bees and/or beekeeping education are welcome!” You won’t be sorry!

August 27th: New Beginnings are always good during New Moon Musings ... Celebrate August’s New Beginnings with new meaning for the dog days of summer. Besides new beginnings, what can we do by the light of the New Moon? According to an age-old practice, we should plant vegetables that yield crops above ground, from the day the Moon ushers in new beginnings, to the day it turns full again. Might we apply that practice to new endeavors that could bear fruit, as well? Jus’ sayin’ ...

֎ Monthly Song of Note
Top honors go this month to ... Sailcat, with their one-hit wonder—song and album—of August 1972.Motorcycle Mamasounded like a good idea at the time! The “southern rock” and country blues song climbed the WFIL/Philadelphia chart to #11 by August 7th. Best part of that is the fun YouTube video collage of women on motorcycles from vintage sitcoms! Even if you haven’t turned 39 enough times to recall Bewitched, Married with Children, or Elly May Clampett in The Beverly Hillbillies, you’ll enjoy the tune and the ‘Tube!
We’ll see the world through my Harley if the chain don't break! ... more tuneful tidbits to manifest your memories of 1972, 50 Years Ago this Month!

֎ For 39ers who Follow the Stars
Whether you’re into your Pirate party mode or simply sipping a cool libation by the pool, you Leo 39ers (07/23-08/22) will feel your UN-birthday New Moon vibrations carried over from last month. They should mesh with this month’s new beginnings (08/27) and help you end August on a strong, confidant note. Use the Full Moon (08/11) to put the past couple of challenging months behind you, as August should be a lucky month for you all the way around. Look for the opportunities, act on them, and party on!
For your UN-birthday, dear Virgo (08/23-09/22), party now, ‘cause your challenges come in the final quarter of the year. You’re a natural nurturer, and it’s time to nurture yourself. Organizing and planning are an integral part of Virgo and you do it very well. The Full Moon is a perfect time to tie up your loose ends from the first half of the year, so by the New Moon, you’re ready to face your challenges and turn them into assets. If one of them is your fondest dream or desire, this is the best time to tell the Universe you want to manifest it now, in time for your UN-birthday!

֎ Aging with ATT-i-tude Platitude
Have you dared to do anything exciting lately? That includes simply remembering when ...

Original intro post ~ LR’s 39er NOTE 08/02/22 (posted @ 8:15p): Nope, I haven’t forgotten about you 39ers! But there is no avoiding the delay that will likely take through the week to make up. In the meantime, we’re revving up our Monthly Song of Note with a melted vinyl one-hit-wonder Oldie, while I find more ways to Age with ATT-i-tude for AUGUST 39ers! (Have you read July’s yet?
