(Friday

the month and I’m only now getting your 39 And Holding article posted.
Sigh. I was on the right track, when the Universe threw me off the
merry-go-round of life … the horses thought it was funny and trampled me …
until I finally remembered they’re not real, got up, flipped ‘em off and here I
am.
And now, it’s Friday
the 13th … what more could go wrong, right?! Oh, trust
me, I wouldn’t tempt fate like that. I actually like this day—it’s always been
full of good fortune, or at least, good-natured fun—for me. With that in mind …

Sky
Enjoy a mini-horoscope for us all. No matter our age, a little perceived help
never hurts. It’s followed by a few words of encouragement as we UNwrap the
month’s UN-Birthday Zodiac signs. Here we go …
For all of us: The first half of the month we
may feel like shapeshifters as we mingle and meander between family, friends,
and business, adapting to each as we go. It may be a struggle, however, to feel
like we’re making any headway anywhere, until mid-month. Come March 19th
we welcome the New Moon to help us move forward with purpose. Aha! We’ll get
the point now.
So, Pisces (Feb 19-March 20), you’ll be dominating March, not only in stargazing
vibrancy, but in real-world actuality, as well. Stand tall and walk with
determination this month, m’dears. Your energy will be infectious and fun. Keep
a firm balance on personal and professional projects for harmonious outcomes
and by mid-month you’ll be ready to direct that energy where it’s needed. The
New Moon in the latter part of March could see you confident and satisfied.
Get out the cleaning supplies, Aries (March 21-April 19)! By mid-March you may be feeling
the need to bring order to your home life and think about sharing your new
tidiness efforts with friends and family. Keep the congenial spark glowing
throughout the month and feel a fresh, calming spell of relaxation, reflection
and quiet strategizing. All-in-all, it’s a soothing month until after the Full
Moon (around the 20th) when your core purpose could pick up the
pace.

3rd: By now (sadly, this
is posting mid-month), you know the "gilded" magic of the March Full Moon!
It was quite a spectacle, coinciding with a full lunar eclipse. Talk
about powerful. We’ll all feel its effects throughout the month, until the New
Moon (19th) shows up while we may still be nursing hangovers
from St. Patrick’s Day.
March
8th: And, of course, we began the second week of the month with
Daylight Saving Time. Are you acclimated yet?! It may take a little
“time,” but you’ll get the hang of it … right about the time we have to
“Fall back” again. Sigh.
March
13th: Why, of course, it’s Friday the 13th!
Depending on your generation, it’s either a day to celebrate the franchise of
movies
to scare the bee-gee-bees out of you, or simply a day to avoid black cats and
ladders. For me, it’s always been great fun to share Friday the 13th

final one of the year on November 13th.
March
17th: Sláinte! Faith ‘n’ Begorrah, it’s St.
Patrick’s Day! In the U.S., from the time I was a kid (with my Irish
heritage in tow), we were told if we didn’t wear green today, we
would be pinched! And “where” you’re pinched was up to the pinchee! If you get
past the pinching phase and want an Irish flair, enjoy the
music.
And in case you’re wondering, Sláinte is pronounced, “slawwn-chee” or
“Slaw-in-tche”. Or, my fave salutation, “Cheers”!
March
19th: Are you ready to muse over your life in the glow of the New Moon tonight? (Or
18th, depending on your time zone.) Contemplate another new
beginning … the New Moon is great for that … or, if feeling need for change not
that drastic, but need a boost, simply ponder how you can renovate what is
currently in your life.
March
20th: Hooray! Let’s
spring into action on a refreshing First Day of
Spring!
In our current flux of odd weather across the nation, you may be wondering what
Mother Nature did with our “real” seasons? To be fair to her, the annual
“seasons” have more to do with sunlight than weather. Marking daylight vs.
darkness, the Spring equinox signals more daytime each day until June when it
peaks for the Summer solstice, and gradually decreases until Fall. It’s all
explained in the link above. Enjoy!
March
22nd: It’s our day! Yes, even WE have our own special
holiday—today is 39 And
Holding DAY! If you ask “why?” I ask, “why not?” I know, people turn 39
And Holding every day … so how did I choose this date for an annual
remembrance? It’s close to the effervescent beginning of Spring—“you make me feel so Spring has
sprung”—and
I paired it with another special day with a no-host sponsor—“As Young As You
Feel Day.” I adopted it, and here we are!
A trivia tidbit … it’s also the
title of a reported breakout movie (1951) for budding actress, Marilyn Monroe.
Go to our page (above link) and enjoy the history!
I wanted to do something special
for this year’s 39AHC “big day,” but as is norm of late—and obvious by
the late posting of this article—the Universe is not cooperating. I also wanted

March
23rd: Leave it to NPR to tell us everything is "OK" on pretty much a
day about nothing—it’s OK Day! Like many
obscure special days, their link is outdated but still full of history for this
ubiquitous expression in the English language. How many times have you used it,
just today!? That’s OK …
March
28th: If you have a balcony, garden, or yard full of plants, you
probably hate weeds. However, give weeds a second glance on today’s Weed
Appreciation Day! Though the sponsor
link is included, the site is rather outdated, so I found a place where you can
learn about
beautiful, flowering weeds and how to control them. Some of the prettiest wildflowers
are weeds …
March
31st: To tap off the month, 39ers, let’s color our world our

Crayon Day! While of course, Crayola sponsors the day, they’re still
more motivated towards kids. But Barnes &

gives the nod to adults who love to color! They offer a delightful array of

Carmen’s sorrowful lyrics and melody
were inspired by
a piano concerto and a tune recorded earlier with the Raspberries. “All By
Myself” ultimately became Carmen’s biggest hit on the charts. This month in 1976
it hit #2 on WHYI/Ft. Lauderdale, Florida’s, Hot Singles.
Following February’s the Love
Month, I figured we needed a counter-balance tune for March … but once I
recalled the true lyrics, I think Carmen’s second biggest hit, “Never Gonna
Fall in Love Again,” released a few months later, probably fits the bill
better—did something happen between those two decidedly different songs? The
latter certainly fit my mood better. Heehee. ♪
